SURVEY: The Pandemic And A Rocky Year Took A Toll On Everyone. How Are Women Faring?

The last time Bisnow took a deep dive into how women in commercial real estate were feeling about their roles in the industry and the path ahead, it coincided neatly with the two-year anniversary of the onset of a pandemic that turned everybody's world upside down, yet likely hit women hardest.

For some women, the black swan event represented a major step backward, pushing them into exhausting triple duty as professionals, caregivers and educators and delaying their career progress. For others, it highlighted longstanding wounds, though the crisis also offered unique opportunities to surmount them, create something new and build a more female-friendly workplace.

Women in CRE were figuring it out and might have overcome what was billed as a frightening “shecession.”

Then came a year of reckoning, both in the market and for women's prospects at large, as the industry struggled to juggle diversity efforts and a flailing capital environment.

Two years down the line, Bisnow wants to hear from women in the industry about how they are feeling now — about their chances at climbing the ladder, their own companies' efforts at erasing the disparity in leadership, and who is doing it right and wrong to close the gender gap.

We want to hear from women at all levels in commercial real estate. Please take the seven-minute survey here or below.
