Trump University Under Fire In Court
Donald Trump will serve as a witness in May as part of a civil lawsuit claiming fraud against his-now defunct Trump University. The suit alleges the school was operating illegally and under false promises, leaving students thousands in debt.
Students paid up to $35k to take classes at Trump University, classes held in lavish hotels and consisted largely of convincing students to take further courses, Bustle reports.
One lawsuit—brought by NY State—against the institution found the mogul’s claims of handpicking his instructors to be completely false.
In his 2013 deposition on that suit, Trump defended the idea that student could make money from the courses by saying, "I did. I made a million dollars or more, unlike a lot of instructors that teach real estate and never made 10 cents.” [Bustle]
