This Airbnb Listing Takes 'Netflix And Chill' To A Whole New Level
What happens when you put "Netflix & Chill" and Airbnb together? Now we know. The viral catchphrase—which, for the uninitiated, means snuggling up with your sweetheart and watching (or not watching) Netflix—has literally come to life in a one-bedroom Airbnb apartment in New York City's West Village.
The apartment (pictured above) is decked out with all sorts of paraphernalia to get your "Netflix and Chill" on: a flaming red comforter with the Netflix logo emblazoned, a fully stacked mini bar with champagne and liquor—and even an HD projector connected with AppleTV and Netflix subscriptions.
All of this for $400/night (probably the most expensive "Netflix & Chill" you can get.) The only hard and fast rule? Do not bring a third guest. "That is a serious request: this is an exclusive experience for [two] people only," the Airbnb listing says.
The "Netflix & Chill Room" started as an art project by two New York-based artists—Tom Galle and Moises Sanabria—and engineer Alyssa Davis.
"A lot of our work revolves around Internet culture or popular culture. We loved the idea of bringing a meme to life and offer it as a real experience," Galle tells Mashable.
It's not the first time Airbnb hosts are getting creative with their listings: just last week, a Brooklyn entrepreneur rented out a backyard igloo, although Airbnb removed that one for not meeting "occupancy standards." [Mashable]
