Zillow Faces $2B Lawsuit For 'Trade Secret Theft'
Real estate site Move—which operates realtor.com for the National Association of Realtors—is suing Zillow for $2B in damages related to trade secret theft.
The lawsuit alleges that Errol Samuelson (pictured), who went to Zillow after being Move’s chief strategy officer, stole trade secrets and brought proprietary info with him when he went from Move to Zillow.
Samuelson resigned from Move on March 5, 2014, and joined Zillow the same day as the company’s second-highest-paid executive, Housing Wire reports.
After some serious legal back-and-forth between the two online real estate giants this most recent lawsuit acknowledges just how damaging Samuelson’s move was—a multibillion-dollar hit, apparently. [HousingWire]
