State Officials Send Trump Lists Of Priority Fixes For Promised Infrastructure Repairs
President Donald Trump promised to fix America’s crumbling infrastructure during his fight for the White House, and now that he’s in office state officials are expecting him to keep his word.
Trump’s transition team asked the National Governors Association to compile lists of needed projects, and so far about 40 have responded, Bloomberg reports. Experts believe the Trump administration wants to assess the situation and figure out how to best fit the projects into its infrastructure plan.
During the campaign Trump’s infrastructure policy called for leveraging private capital to cover the huge gap in public funding. Whether that’s still his plan is unknown, but Trump has asked Richard LeFrak and Steven Roth to lead a council that will advise him on how to make those infrastructure investments. [Bloomberg]
