Five Tech Trends of the Decade
It's not every day you get the head of the AT&T Foundry—the startup-like group within the telecom giant—to open up about his tech prognostications. But this morning wasn't any day.
Roger Mahler (here with CrowdVested Grady Thrasher) was one of our panelists at this morning's first annual Atlanta Creative Office & Tech event at 271 17th St in Atlantic Station. We asked Roger what five tech innovations to watch in the coming decade:
- The “Smart City/Civic Hacking.” How to integrate all this smart technology—mobile, wireless, etc.—into a seamless system that can help run a city.
- Autonomous car. Self driving is in its experimental stages now, but the technology can be there for this to really take off and shape cities.
- Robotics. “We haven't even scratched the surface of where we're going there.”
- The battery as the source of energy. So, you know, Teslas for everyone!
- Nanotechnology.
