Largest U.S. Data Center Markets Continue To Boom

America’s data center market is in growth mode and the largest markets are leading the pack.
CBRE’s Q4 report on the industry said latency requirements, access to interconnection points and cloud hubs continue to drive demand, pushing growth in the largest data center markets, GlobeSt reports. Northern Virginia accounted for more than one-third of 2016’s total 195 megawatt net absorption, which was just slightly under 2015’s mark of 200 megawatt absorption.
CBRE said the perception of slowing demand in the second half of 2016 was misleading. The year ended with net occupancy gains across major markets rivaling the record highs experienced in 2015.
