2015 Private Real Estate Fundraising Hits Post-Crisis High
Q3 is over, but how has private real estate funding stacked up so far this year? Pretty good, since the first three quarters raised $107.7B, the highest three-quarter number in any post-crisis year, PERE Research & Analysis says.
The gold star goes to Q3 itself, which raised $51.6B, accounting for 48% of the year's total. Overall, the numbers are up 14% from the same time period last year and mark a 32% jump from 2013.
North America is the most popular region with $36.6B raised for real estate spending. But global fundraising is doing pretty well too, raising $34.6B so far.
And there's one unsurprising fund that's stealing all the thunder: Blackstone's latest (and largest) real estate fund, Blackstone Real Estate Partners VIII, raising a whopping $15.8B. [PERE]
