Jacobs' $2.85B Buyout Of Rival CH2M Will Create A Global Engineering Giant
Dallas-based Jacobs Engineering Group will acquire rival CH2M Hill Cos. for $2.85B in a deal that will create one of the largest engineering and building consultancy firms in the world.
The combined firms will have revenue of $15B, trailing close behind Aecom, one of the largest engineering firms in the world, which has revenue of $17B.
Jacobs said the deal would allow it to increase its presence in the growing markets of high-value infrastructure and government services.
Denver-based CH2M is involved in one such project in the U.K. — it is a key contractor in the refurbishment of the Palace of Westminster, which could cost up to £4B.
The deal values CH2M at an enterprise value of $3.27B, including debt.
