Prince’s Paisley Park Recording Studio Finally To Open As A Museum

Placeholder

Prince’s Paisley Park recording studio just got the go-ahead to officially open as a museum

The studio, outside Minneapolis in Chanhassen, MN, was temporarily denied its museum-zoning status three weeks ago when the local City Council delayed voting on the zoning change, the New York Times reports. The council cited concerns over traffic, parking and public safety—legitimate concerns seeing as the museum is expected to draw up to 600,000 visitors a year.

Tours of the museum begin tomorrow. Tickets cost $38.50, with a VIP pass going for $100. Prince died in April of an accidental painkiller overdose at 57 years old. [NYT]
