In 2022, commercial real estate faced a multitude of pandemic aftershocks — topsy-turvy consumer and workplace habits, numerous interest rate hikes that have dragged property values down 13% this year alone and the agony of the highest inflation in 40 years. The cherry on top of the year could be the divisive U.S. midterm elections, which have surprisingly galvanized real estate around an as-of-late uncommon feeling: hope.
