Top Broker Jumps Ship From Cushman & Wakefield To Newmark
The battle for talent in commercial real estate services is as heated as ever, especially with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank's latest catch, Fred Smith, lured away from Cushman & Wakefield.
Smith made the switch after working for 31 years at C&W as an office leasing broker, rising to vice chairman, the Wall Street Journal reports. He will continue to hold that title at Newmark.
Smith has repped tenants in more than 30M SF of deals over the years, signing bonuses for top producers that easily exceeded $1M. Despite headwinds in the industry, it’s clear the war for talent is still raging. [WSJ]
