Young commercial real estate professionals are looking for three things: knowledge, connections and mentorship.

Bisnow has always been known for our commitment to informing and connecting the CRE industry at the hundreds of events we hold each year and at our principal-only Escape and Ascent executive retreats. Two years ago, we decided to launch a new vertical — Elevate — designed to help young CRE professionals build the relationships and skills they need to become the industry leaders of tomorrow.

Peachtree Group Assistant Vice President of Acquisitions Matt Weatherford attended in 2023 and 2024 after learning about the conference from a colleague. He said he was inspired by Elevate’s reputation for networking opportunities and collaboration among industry professionals.

“The opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals, gain fresh insights and participate in intensive workshops motivated me to apply,” Weatherford said. “The sessions on leadership and change management have been particularly valuable, allowing me to drive more effective communication and collaboration among teams.”

He said attending Elevate gave him new perspectives on leadership and strategic decision-making, which empowered him to take on more responsibilities within his organization.

“The mentorship and networking opportunities have also helped me expand my professional network,” he said.

Last year’s second annual Elevate conference brought 250 young professionals from all major markets across the country including analysts, associates and directors to Nashville’s W Hotel. The companies represented included Presidium Group, Peachtree Group, and many more.

Along with off-the-record keynotes and interactive learning sessions led by Starwood Property Trust President Jeff DiModica, Ackman-Ziff President Simon Ziff, EDENS Head of Residential Kelly Nagel and Walker & Dunlop CEO Willy Walker, attendees engaged in speed dealmaking and hourlong tribe sessions. These preassigned, small-group sessions were hand-assembled by the Elevate staff based on region, asset class focus and investment criteria.

Bisnow is accepting applications for this year’s Elevate conference, which will take place April 28 and 29 at the W Hotel Nashville. Click here to learn more.

Weatherford said CRE leaders should nominate their employees to attend because it is an investment in their growth that not only enhances their individual capabilities but also drives innovation and success within the organization as a whole.

“Elevate offers a unique platform for personal and professional development for young real estate professionals,” Weatherford said. “The conference’s focus on real-world challenges and solutions equips attendees with the tools to lead effectively in a rapidly evolving landscape.”
