Top Spots for July 4
Wonder what's the hottest Fourth of July destination? Surprisingly, it's not fireworks on the National Mall. New York City topped Travelocity's top 10 cities for Independence Day travel, with LA, Orlando, Seattle, and South Florida rounding out the top five. (DC came in at No. 9.) The report also shows that hotel rates for the upcoming holiday weekend have jumped 8%, bringing the average nightly hotel rate to $171. If you're looking for some cheaper celebrations, Las Vegas ($105/night), Albuquerque ($112), and Colorado Springs ($116) are the three most affordable cities.
