Airbnb Targets Business Travelers
Airbnb is increasing its efforts to gain a bigger share of the business travel market. The company launched a revamped "Airbnb for Business" platform last week and plans to debut a marketing campaign for the new product. The platform features a central billing system and dashboard to help companies track employee travel expenses, reports Business Insider. While hotels maintain their dominance in the business travel category, Airbnb hopes to change perceptions and become a viable alternative. Luring business travelers has proven to be more difficult than attracting leisure travelers as corporate users typically demand higher-quality rooms and amenities. Business rentals make up roughly 10% of Airbnb’s stays, on pace with last year. Google, Salesforce and Vox Media are among the 250 companies that use Airbnb. [BI]
