JLL is promoting a hospitality veteran to lead its portfolio in the Americas.

Kevin Davis has been named JLL Americas CEO, hotels & hospitality division, the brokerage firm announced Wednesday. Davis first joined JLL in 2013, and he has had a hand in deals totaling more than $20B. Davis has served as senior managing director overseeing the firm's hotel investment banking group, according to his LinkedIn profile.

On that team, Davis led deals on well-known properties across the country, including a $150M debt refinancing deal on San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel and a $180M financing deal on the luxury Miami Beach Edition hotel. Davis, along with JLL's Jeff Rosenberg, is also leading the sale of land beneath the Times Square Edition hotel, Bloomberg reported in October.

Before JLL, Davis worked in commercial real estate at Merrill Lynch and UBS, according to the press release. He also co-founded a debt fund business and worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., as an attorney.

"Having the ability to think holistically about a situation and provide advice that contemplates all potential paths to maximize value for our clients is key to maintaining our competitive advantage," Hotels & Hospitality Global CEO Gilda Perez-Alvarado, who was the guest on Bisnow's podcast this week, said in the press release. "Kevin brings a deep understanding of the entire capital structure and has been involved in every aspect of our business."

Davis' promotion also means Jeffrey Davis, who currently serves as co-head of U.S. Investment Sales Advisory at JLL, will oversee new business development for hotels and hospitality in the U.S.
