Luxury Boutique Hotels Taking To Secondary Markets
The hospitality industry continues to move in favor of luxury boutique hotels—even large traditional hotel operators have taken to copying the luxury accommodations offered at boutiques in hopes of boosting traffic.
And the upscale lodging accommodations aren’t just hitting large markets—management company Charlestowne Hotels oversees 14 boutiques in secondary cities. The operator will open a 30-room boutique hotel under The Collector banner in St. Augustine, FL, and has plans to open a 41-room boutique in Clemson, SC, and a 65-room Bristol Hotel in Bristol, VA, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Even hotelier Hilton Worldwide Holdings announced plans to launch its own boutique brand this year. Tru, the stylish midscale brand, will open its first property in early 2017. [WSJ]
