This Airbnb Listing Of The President's Childhood Home Trumps All Others
You cannot trump this deal.
President Donald Trump’s childhood home, where he lived until the age of four, is now listed on Airbnb for short-term rentals.
The Jamaica Estates Tudor, in Queens, New York is currently renting for $617/night, the New York Post reports.
Real estate developer Michael Davis purchased the home for $1.39M after it was put up for auction by restaurateur Isaac Kestenberg and his now-estranged wife, Claudia, in 2016. Davis has since flipped the property and sold it only months later for a profit of nearly $1M.
After learning the new owners wanted to rent the property for $4K/month, Davis and his business partner decided to get back in the game by signing on as renters, and listing it on Airbnb shortly after.
The home was originally built by the president-elect’s father, Fred Trump, in 1940. According to the Airbnb listing, many of the original furnishings and details remain the same as when the Trumps lived in the home, allowing visitors to experience some presidential nostalgia during their stay.
The home is equipped with five bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, sleeps 20 people and offers breakfast to all guests. The true draw, however, is the “presidential style” living room, which features a cardboard cutout of the president-elect himself.
