Here He Goes Again...Trump Announces Plans to Expand into Asia
Donald Trump is packing up his bags and heading off to West Java, Indonesia, to open what will be his second Trump Hotels property in Asia. The almost 1,730-acre resort, Lido Lakes, is being developed in partnership with MNC Group. The Trump Hotel Collection's move is part of the Trump Organization's plan to own premier destinations around the world, EVP Donald Trump Jr. said in a statement.
"Being on board at this early stage ensures the Lido development will reflect (our) standards and attention to detail," he says. Trump will be involved starting with Phase 1 of the development, which is the 18-hole signature Ernie Els championship golf course—Trump's first on the continent.
The resort will also feature a spa, luxury villas and condos. Both MNC Group and Trump Hotel Collection hope Lido Lakes will be "the pride of Indonesia," once the Bogor-Sukabumi toll road, also developed by MNC Group, is completed.
