So the largest hospitality company has just been created, but what does that mean for Starwood and Marriott's many rewards members? Well, no one knows because they haven't released any information about it.
One thing's for sure, however: it's almost impossible to operate two separate programs or merge the two overnight, the Points Guy founder Brian Kelley says. It won't be easy; both programs are massive, with Marriott working with Chase and Starwood working with American Express.
Starwood may end up being diluted into Marriott's mega-program and lose value. Whatever happens though, Brian suggests you use your points before they lose value.
