Wynn Board Rejects Elaine Wynn's Bid
Elaine Wynn, the co-founder of Wynn Resorts and ex-wife of company chief Steve Wynn, lost her aggressive campaign to stay on the casino group's board. Shareholders yesterday voted to replace Elaine with John J. Hagenbuch and J. Edward Virtue, the company brass' top picks for the boardroom. An Institutional Shareholders Service report released earlier this month argued for the rejection of all three candidates in a blunt criticism of company management. In happier times Elaine and Steve Wynn helped build the company into a $13B casino and hotel powerhouse. Elaine was the sole female board member.
