Pivotal Moments — Paul Klink: The Phone Call That Changed Everything
Paul Klink’s life changed with a phone call.
The call came in 2000, while Paul was a broker for Koll Development Co. It was the Bonney family, who owned Bonney’s Market in San Diego, one of Paul’s oldest clients. They were good people and he considered them friends, but they hadn’t talked in years. They wanted to meet.
But when Paul got to the meeting, he realized it wasn’t a normal catch-up. The Bonneys wanted to roll out a new kind of grocery store. Like a supermarket, but with organic produce and specialty foods at highly competitive prices. They already knew what they wanted to do, and they wanted to see how Paul could help them do it.
To find out how Paul helped turn their idea into Sprouts Farmers Market, hear him speak at Bisnow’s Midwest Industrial & Logistics Summit on June 4 in Chicago.
