Online Shopping Is Forcing Apartment Landlords To Adapt

Landlords are struggling to deal with the massive influx of Amazon, Etsy and Zappos packages swarming their developments.

The rise of e-commerce is forcing landlords to rethink how they deal with packages, whether that means simply expanding space or reinventing their system to deal with deliveries, The Real Deal reports. Some developments are charging residents monthly fees if they want to have boxes delivered to their doors while others, like Houston’s Camden Property Trust, stopped accepting parcels at all their U.S. properties.

One thing is clear, as residents' mania for online purchases grows, landlords are being forced to adapt, with some even hiring more staff to handle the packages.
