Report: Rat Infestation May Delay Big 1WTC Move

Condé Nast's supposedly transformative move into 1 World Trade Center has been hampered by an age-old NYC scourge: rats. Gawker reported that the publishing company's new offices on the 25th and 26th floors of the western hemisphere's tallest building are crawling with vermin, leading Condé's chicest editor, Vogue's Anna Wintour, to stay out of her office until minions guarantee it's rat-free. Sales and marketing employees are already in the building and dealing with the reported (by anonymous sources) infestation. But the editorial department, which was supposed to move in today, spent the weekend considering a pushback.

If confirmed, the rodent scare would be an exceptionally embarrassing stumble for 1WTC landlords the Port Authority and Durst Organization who, with other city and Financial District boosters, have trumpeted Condé's relocation from Midtown to the tower as a fashionable shot in the arm for the WTC site and the surrounding neighborhood.
