Apple Makes 1st Push Into San Francisco Office Market
Apple has reportedly reached an agreement to lease 76k SF in the city's booming South of Market neighborhood. This would be Apple’s first push into the San Francisco office market space and add to the footprint of Silicon Valley companies in the city. The potential sublease is at 235 Second St and is home to CBS Interactive, which leases the majority of the building. A two-floor sublease that could hold between 400 and 500 employees has been on the market for about seven months, reports the Silicon Valley Business Journal. Subleasing has become increasingly popular in the city as little new space will hit the market this year. There is 1.1M SF of sublease space available in San Francisco, the most since the dot-com era. Silicon Valley companies have taken up about 2.5M SF in the city since 2010. [SVBJ]
