Office Demand Led By a San (But It's not Diego, Francisco, or -ta Barbara)
The strongest market in terms of demand for office space is San Jose at 3.8M SF, according to a DTZ report. Dallas, Oakland, LA and Atlanta round out the top 5. Nationwide, rental rates rose in more than 70% of metro areas, fueled by strong tenant demand in Q2, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Office rents rose 2.7% compared to a year ago, the largest quarterly gain since peaking in 2008. DTZ tracked 80 metro areas, 68 of which reported occupancy gains. [ABC]
