How Airports Are Influencing Office Lobbies

Placeholder

Airports are leading the way in terms of adapting amenities to the new work world, says JLL property manager David Camins (second from right above, the day his entire family met Lord Stanley). He manages Chicago's 300 S Riverside and 540 W Madison (where The Cup was hosted and hoisted). How lobbies can be more like airports: media walls, charging stations, and furniture with outlets, he says. The biggest damper on a more-mobile workday will always be dead batteries (that's also the name of our punk band), so accessible charging points for all types of devices is key. In terms of snacks, there's an urban trend towards higher-quality, more healthful foods, with must-have access to post-work beer, wine, and cheese.
