BOMA's Biggest Cheerleading Section
The BOMA International TOBY Awards in Washington, DC, wouldn't have been successful without the support of BOMA members, colleagues, vendors and family members of the building operation teams behind the 84 buildings nominated for the prestigious honor.
At the TOBY cocktail reception, we snapped Patricia Horn, BOMI International president & CEO Jeffrey Horn, BRAVO! Group Services' Michael Amoroso and Valcourt Building Services' Dan Dvorak. Jeff tells us BOMI, the nonprofit, independent educational institute, just released a new course on high-performance, sustainable building investment. Michael and Dan were on hand to cheer for clients Boston Properties, which owns and manages Carnegie Center in Princeton, NJ, and Corporate Office Properties Trust and JLL, behind Blue Bell, PA's Arborcrest Corporate Campus.
Also on hand were DMS's Lawrence Mira and Jeff Marquis, JLL's David Hopwood, Riverrock Real Estate Group's John Combs and BOMA/Chicago's Michael Cornicelli. Are there frequent flier points available for Lawrence and Jeff? They tell us that this is their 23rd year attending the International TOBY Awards in support of their clients.
And here are BOMA/Dallas' Alyssa Trongaard, Holt Lunsford Commercial's Scott Moore, Hines' Jeff Mabrey and Jeff's wife, Angela.
Stiles Property Management's Chris Rotolo was cheering on TOBY contenders Legacy Place in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and the Plaza at Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, both managed by her company. She's joined by BOMA International's Karen Penafiel and Karen's children, William and Carmen.
LBA Realty had two buildings in California gunning for a TOBY Award last night: Park Place Irvine in Irvine, and Towne Centre in Foothill Ranch. Little did they know they'd be nabbing the Renovated Building TOBY for Park Place Irving shortly after this picture was taken! Here are the firm's Chris Suzuki, Karen Penhall, Tracey Hagadorn and Frank Arellano.
Here are Devin Gignilliat, SOPREMA's Joanna Carbone (whose building in Pompano Beach, FL, was vying for the Industrial Office Building TOBY), Colliers' Jonathan Rubins and TIER REIT's Frittsy Mosshart and Ann Withington. While TIER REIT wasn't up for any awards this year, it has the rare distinction of nabbing the 1M+ SF TOBY Award twice.
We also snapped BOMA/New Jersey's Dolores Bocian, Valcourt Building Services' Stanley Wellinsky and Columbia Property Trust's Debbie Sparks.
While BOMA/Pittsburgh's local association didn't have any buildings gunning for a TOBY Award last night, it brought the Stanley Cup (OK, a replica) to show it was satisfied enough with the Penguins' win against the San Jose Sharks this year. This dapper group is The Huber Group's Chad Huber, BOMA/Pittsburgh's Mike Embrescia, Avison Young's Kevin Clarke, AlliedBarton's Alan Stein, CBRE's Celeste Colosimo, JLL's Edward Manko and Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh's Tony Young.
Zeller Realty Group's Bob Six and Goby's Megan Six weren't only happily celebrating the TOBY Awards last night—it was Megan's first time attending the BOMA International Conference & Expo and it was her birthday. Many happy returns!
