Citi's $100B Goal to Tackle Climate Change
Citi announced it will spend $100B over the next 10 years to reduce the impacts of climate change and benefit the environment, reports Environmental Leader. Its initiative also calls for LEED certification of 33% of its real estate, including Platinum certification for 388/390 Greenwich St in New York City (pictured), which will become the company's global HQ. Its previous $50B goal—which Citi reached in 2013, EL reports—led to 20% more efficiency in its real estate portfolio and LEED certifications for 15% of its buildings.
