France Mandates Rooftop Sustainability Measures

In a law approved last week, any rooftops on new buildings built in commercial zones in France must either be partially covered in plants or solar panels. The law, which was approved by the French Parliament, was smaller in scope than initially requested by environmental activists, who wanted to make the entire surface mandatory.
