Responsibilities: Splitting time between my duties as BOMA International’s chair and running the commercial real estate firm I established with my son.
How you got involved in property management: I started as a leasing and property manager for a suburban office park in Atlanta.
Industry extracurriculars: I’ve been involved with BOMA for more than 30 years; prior to my current term as BOMA International chair, I also served as president of BOMA/Georgia and headed BOMA International’s national advisory council.
Daily habit: Spending time with my family—they mean everything to me.
Favorite book: The Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino.
Favorite music: Garth Brooks.
Favorite movie: Avatar—but I also was pleasantly surprised by Frozen when I took my grandkids to see it.
Favorite restaurant: Joe's Stone Crab in Miami Beach.
Favorite Vacation: Hawaii—I’ve traveled there five times and I would go again tomorrow.
First job: Bagging groceries.
Job in another life: Real estate developer, because I love to create new things.
Item on bucket list: Stay in an over-water bungalow in Bora Bora.
Person you'd like to meet, dead or alive: Author Og Mandino—I missed an opportunity to hear him speak not long before he died in 1996.
Family life: I’ve been married to my wife, Karen, for 40 years, and we have four grown children and six grandchildren (and counting).
Startling fact: I got to play the world-famous course at the Augusta National Golf Club—and I shot an 89!
