Online Hegemony Isn't Enough—Amazon Continues Its Brick-And-Mortar Expansion
After becoming the king of e-commerce, Amazon sets its sights on brick-and-mortar—the firm plans to open its third bookstore in Portland.
“We are excited to be bringing Amazon Books to Washington Square, and we are currently hiring store managers and associates. Stay tuned for additional details down the road,” Amazon told Fortune, confirming rumors that the company is expanding its brick-and-mortar business.
But so far that business is only in its infant stages—Amazon has one bookstore in Seattle and revealed plans earlier this year to open a second shop in San Diego. [Fortune]
