Starbucks To Open 12,000 New Locations Through 2021
Even though CEO Howard Schultz is stepping down, Starbucks is hardly hitting the brakes—instead, the firm is aggressively pushing to open more stores than ever.
Starbucks announced plans to open 12,000 new locations through 2021, increasing its store count to 37,000, USA Today reports. And those new stores are only one part of a five-year plan to boost the firm’s revenue by 10% a year.
About 1,000 of those new stores will be Starbucks Reserve high-end stores, where the firm will find out whether Millennials are willing to spend over $10 for a cup of coffee. [USA Today]
