CEOs Are More Worried About Jobs Than Trump’s Policies, Brexit Or Populism
CEOs from around the world are more worrried about the lack of qualified workers needed to fuel corporate growth than they are about President-elect Donald Trump’s future policies, European populism and Brexit, according to a recent survey.
PwC’s 20th annual survey of CEOs found that 38% are very confident their company will grow over the next year and 29% think global economic growth will increase in 2017, Business Insider reports. That optimism is pushing 52% of CEOs to plan to increase the number of jobs they're offering, but most companies are worried they won’t be able to find enough qualified workers.
A full 77% of CEOs surveyed said they are worried they won’t be able to find workers with the key skills required to fill positions, a valid concern considering the labor market is tightening and unemployment is down to 4.7%. [BI]
