ATLANTA: Georgia State Wants The Braves
Atlanta-based real estate investment and development firm Carter has teamed up with Georgia State University as one of the potential suitors for the current Turner Field site once the Braves move to Cobb County. And what a vision it is, based on a proposed site plan: a $300M mixed-use project that would house a stadium, GSU buildings, retail, student housing, single-family houses, and apartments (Columbia Residential is also part of the proposed JV). “All we are trying to do is share an initial vision,” says Carter's Scott Taylor. There's still a ways to go on this, and the City of Atlanta has yet to outline how it will dispose of the property.
