DC: American U Adds More Housing

Placeholder

DC's American University will add another 500-plus beds in 2016, Skanska's Martin Sharpless told us at this week's Bisnow DC Construction Summit. Martin (here with Baker Tilly's Barbara Schaefer McDuffie) tells us Skanska's building the project, which will also include some academic buildings, and that work will start in June and cost a little under $100M. Prefab construction materials will be used, so as not to disrupt the flow of daily campus life too badly. (Leave that to the a cappella groups on the quad.) Skanska's also used prefab materials at residence halls at U Delaware and James Madison U.
