UNC Students Buy Brookhaven High Rise
Here's a new take on "student housing": The University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School's student-managed Real Estate Fund II (KFBS-REFII) announced the acquisition of the 17-story Brookhaven Class-A multifamily high-rise in Atlantawith Admiral Capital Group and Wood Partners. KFBS-REFII allows UNC students to get first-hand real estate experience, taking part in every aspect of acquisitions like Brookhaven.Wood Partners--which'll lead modernization of the building--has close ties to UNC and its real estate efforts: Founder Leonard Wood earned his MBA there in '72. He recently donated $4M to establish the Leonard W. Wood Foundation for Excellence in Real Estate and endow the Leonard W. Wood Center for Real Estate Studies.
