Augaroo Expands
The Reston, Va.-based augmented reality and consulting firm has expanded to a new office in Belarus, doubled its staff to 50 between its HQ and another office in Ukraine, and launched a marketing, advertising, and branding division. CEO Tatiana Langseth (back, middle) says the company has been building mobile apps for clients, including Blue Tiger Labs’ PriceSpotting, which helps shoppers find the best retail prices at local stores.
Augaroo also recently started working with Implicit Solution, a startup that’s creating an app to help people determine their deep seeded biases against race. The company was launched by Bridgette Davis (top, right), an attorney who’s using Harvard’s Implicit Association Test as a basis for the app. She says the app will find biases that people may not know they have and help users think differently through a series of questions. She says the app, which keeps results private, will be of interest to universities, hospitals, and corporations with diversity training programs.
