Cybersec Startup Seeing Fast Growth

Cyber Squared CEO Adam Vincent (seated) has a good problem: His cybersecurity product, ThreatConnect, is in hot demand, and now it’s time to scale quickly enough to support customers. Adam describes ThreatConnect, launched six months ago, as LinkedIn combined with Salesforce.com. It allows organizations to work as a team with other organizations in a closed network around security threats and use data analytics to better understand threats to the business. Adam says most cybersecurity products are too expensive for medium and small businesses, so the Cyber Squared product allows them access to threat intelligence processes and data that they normally couldn’t produce. (It's like Jean-Claude Van Damme. Effective action star, but more affordable than hiring Vin Diesel.)

The Arlington, Va., company, whose founding team comes from Symantec and the intel community, has already attracted several customers, including Fortune 100 companies, government agencies, nonprofits, and security vendors. And weekly requests are coming in from large companies for demos. The product was launched last August and has grown from a set of beta users to over 2,000 customers. Adam says the goal is to reach 10,000 users by the end of the year and to hire at least 10 more people to bring the bootstrapped company to 50.
