How To Get Your Lawn Mowed
The snow plows have stopped, and soon enough we’ll start hearing the glorious sound of lawn mowers. Especially those coming from Lawnstarter, an online lawn service started in Richmond and Hampton Roads that expanded to the DC area recently. Co-founders Ryan Farley and Steve Corcoran launched the company last summer after realizing lawn care was a $71B industry with terrible customer service. Users can order a lawn mowing through the startup’s website and add on other services like mulching and hedge trimming. For now, the focus is Fairfax and Arlington counties and Alexandria. (They’ll use the DC region to learn the operational side of the business and crafting personalized customer service.) The company, backed with $110k in angel funding, partnered with five lawn companies that have the ability to take on lots of customers.
