Opower's Big Day
Opower officially starts trading today on the New York Stock Exchange as OPWR. (Prince and IPOs are the only people whose names can be symbols.) At last check, the company's stock was hovering around $24. The Arlington, Va.-based provider of software for utility companies, launched by Dan Yates in ’07, priced 6.1M shares of its common stock at $19 per share. The company, whose software helps utility customers track and reduce their energy consumption, has funding from NEA, Accel, Kleiner Perkins, MHS Capital, Founder Collective, and Ali & Hadi Partovi.
