Tech Broker App Startup Scores $8M in Series B Financing
A filing with the SEC shows commercial real estate brokerage app Apto scoring an $8M Series B financing round, proving that tech may just be today's king. The funding will help put Apto—a cloud-based app that tracks and connects contacts—on the market. Adam Street Partners led the round, with Mercury Fund contributing as a follow-up to its Series A funding, the Houston Business Journal reports. Each investor now has a seat on the board of the Texas-based company, which has plans to add up to 150 employees to its current 48, manage deals and perform back office services. Apto was founded in 2012 by Tanner McGraw, a healthcare investment sales specialist who formerly worked at Marcus & Millichap and Transwestern in Houston. [HBJ]
