Facebook Jumps On Food-Delivery Bandwagon
It looks like Facebook wants to turn its 1.7 billion user base into a customer base, and the social media giant is starting with food, movie tickets and salon appointments.
Facebook has been rolling out new services to help its users shop by keeping them connected to information on events, and now it’s allowing users to order takeout while on Facebook, the Wall Street Journal reports.
“How can we make Facebook more useful in your everyday life?” Thats the question Andrew Bosworth, Facebook’s head of advertising technology, says is driving this expansion of services. And seeing as Facebook has such an enormous amount of data on its users, not to mention outreach, Bosworth says the company will keep expanding its retail connections “over the course of the next months and years.” [WSJ]
