The VC That Helped Fund Facebook And LinkedIn Raises $1B For Its Newest Fund
Greylock Partners just raised $1B for its latest fund, and after massive past successes funding Facebook, LinkedIn and Workday, this time around the legendary venture capital firm has its eye on emerging technologies.
"Some of these spaces are more mature now," Greylock partner James Slavet (pictured) told Business Insider. "The $100B question is where are we going to find the next really, really big companies. Are they going to look different in terms of the spaces we’re in historically?”
Slavet says that while Greylock will continue its focus on consumer network businesses, the firm will also take a serious look at emerging technologies like virtual reality, artificial intelligence and machine learning, believing those to be the birthing ground of tomorrow’s billion-dollar businesses.
