ATF Determines Cause Of Hillsborough Industrial Fire
Federal investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ National Response Team believe they have pinpointed the cause of the fire that raged through Veterans Industrial Park at 152 Route 206 in Hillsborough from Feb. 11 to 13, but have not announced what it is—although they noted there's no indication it was set intentionally.
Examinations and witness statements helped determine the fire originated in a building that holds a paper records storage business, according to the ATF, reports CentralJersey.com. The fire resulted in more than $50M in damages and destroyed two buildings totaling approximately 500k SF. The five-alarm fire required assistance from 93 fire companies and over 200 emergency vehicles from across Central Jersey. [CJ]
