Last time we visited developer LCOR's David Sigman (right), on news of its $100M gut-and-renovation, the lobby of 545 Madison was awaiting the finishing touches of a commissioned sculpture, which debuted Thursday night. Modernist sculptor Willard Boepple was on hand for the unveiling of his four resin pieces, titled "The Way Things Work," chosen in a national competition attracting submissions from 20 artists.

Willard tells us that he designed the colorful sculptures with the narrow, linear entryway in mind and wanted the walls to come alive for tenants walking into the building. And who will be walking in? David says the building now has a lease out for half of the pre-built 8th floor, as well as two leases in the works for the entire 7th floor, encompassing 8.8k-SF each. Also signed: Oscar Blandi Salon to 9.3k SF on the second floor last month.
