AREW GOES CREW; NRC MEDIA MEET; INCENTIVES
Last night, we met with Caran Properties' Rebecca Mason, Related Group's Jennifer McCool, and Appraisers and Planners' Ruth Agnese, respectively AREW president and past presidents, whose association recently joined forces with the CREW Network as NYC's second chapter and the network's 68th, already including NYCREW.

Rebecca (right, with Ruth) tells us that CREW's national network approached the group and posited the idea, noting its 30 years of reaching out to women in the NY market. AREW had already been seeking further opportunities for its 270 members, and the national benefits enticed its localized platform. Joining CREW now gives its members US and Canadian exposure to 8k other members, as well as other national perks (including its charitable foundation and annual convention in the fall, this year in Boston).

Rebecca and Jennifer (right) recently with some AREW board members: JLC Environmental Consultants' Jennifer Carey, Perkins+Will's Debra Cole, and Paul Hastings' Jill Leonardis. Despite the new association, don't expect many changes to AREW. It's keeping its name (ACREW just doesn't have the same ring) and bylaws, as well as its usual event schedule and charitable work, Ruth adds. NYCREW and AREW will continue to remain distinct chapters (other cities also have two CREW groups), but this will give them the opportunity to do more together, including a cocktail party this fall.
