BANKERS AND BALLGAMES
Merritt Engineering's Jim Merritt, Besen Capital's Angela Ortiz, The Albanese Org.'s Robert Hanski, and Donovan & Giannuzzi's Kevin Monaghan at BUtterfield 8
Last night, we dropped by BUtterfield 8 (named for the old neighborhood telephone prefix), packed with Young Mortgage Bankers Association members for its fall networking event, no doubt readying themselves for a big night of baseball. Event sponsor Merritt Engineering's Jim Merritt, Besen Capital's Angela Ortiz, The Albanese Org.'s Robert Hanski, and Donovan & Giannuzzi's Kevin Monaghan. Angel reports that her firm just started an asset management division focusing on distress, acting as an adviser to lenders, receivers, and banks managing and disposing assets.
Citibank's Peter Meyer, Metropolitan National Bank's Bruce Goldman, M&T Bank's Jay Byrne, and Fidelity National Title's Timothy Oberweger
Citibank's Peter Meyer, Metropolitan National Bank's Bruce Goldman, M&T Bank's Jay Byrne, and Fidelity National Title's Timothy Oberweger were all rooting for the Yankees last night, but Timothy, who has tickets to Game 7, was secretly hoping they'd need to go one more. We’re happy that the Yankees won, but sorry that you lost out on your tix, Timothy.

Despite a bar full of Yankees fans, Philadelphia native Jonathan Hirshey (right) of Eurohypo AG wasn't afraid to admit that he was rooting for the Phillies (and if anyone has a problem with that, he says he can take them on). He's with Alchemy Properties' Gerald Davis, Capital One's Ben Stacks, YMBA president Carly Berfas, and Bruzina PLLC's John Bruzina. John just started his own law firm, focusing on corporate real estate transactions. Next for YMBA: its winter lunch, scheduled for January.
