Newmark Knight Frank's Robin Fisher, Perkins+Will's Debra Cole, Island Capital Group's Bob Lieber, and Rhodes Associates' Jane Lyons
Yesterday’s AREW Holiday Luncheon at The Player’s Club included a visit from an old friend—former deputy mayor for economic development Bob Lieber (with Newmark Knight Frank’s Robin Fisher, Perkins+Will’s Debra Cole, and Rhodes Associates’ Jane Lyons), who keynoted the sold-out event as Island Capital Group’s new executive managing director. After reminiscing about his years at Lehman Brothers and stints as NYC Economic Development Corp prez and deputy mayor, he noted that today holds one of the best opportunities in 20 years with the enormous transfer of wealth between bond and equity holders. No one’s sure where the market’s going, but now’s the time to have a seat at the table to try and figure it out. Adversity means the opportunity to partner up, form effective teams, and think creatively—there will be high demand for service providers and operating partners.
AREW Charitable Fund
The Big Man in Red’s busy up north these days, so the women of AREW’s Charitable Fund stepped in as Secret Santas for its annual gift collection for the children at the Women In Need, a charity that helps NYC’s homeless women and their families. Here, (back) KTR Real Estate Advisors’ Theresa Nygard, attorney Barbara Pryor, The Advance Group’s Vivian Aronica, (front) Vanguard Construction & Development’s Stephanie Chippas, Horizon Land Services’Stephanie Butler, HDR’s Mary Williamson, HJ Kalikow & Co’s Dorothy Vermeer, and Sun & Moon Marketing’s Madelyne Kirch hold only a few of the gifts collected, supporting 225 children this year.
