Cherry Picking
June 1, 2010
If you're out harvesting fruit, you'll need a pretty big basket for the cherries inside Boston Properties' 540 Madison Ave. That's where artist Takashi Murakami's sculpture—aptly named âCherriesâ—now graces the modern Moed de Armas & Shannon Architects-designed lobby, complementing its Taemo wood (a Japanese ash), marble, and limestone interior. Here, JLL's Cynthia Wasserberger, who leases the building along with Randy Abend and Amanda Saltzman, does double duty as curator. |
The building just saw three lease transactions: Korean communications firm SK Telecom signed a five-year, 6.9k SF lease for the entire 33rd floor; specialty law firm Molo Lamken signed a five-year, 6.9k SF lease for the entire 34th floor; and Edelman Financial signed 3.2k SF lease for part of 27th floor. Now just the 25th and 31st floors remain to lease, with asking rents averaging in the low $80s /SF. |
